MILWAUKEE — Seniors Jack Geary and Brian Main have been named to the 2013 All-Continental Volleyball Conference West Division Team.
With Geary (Sr./Milwaukee/ME) in the middle and Main (Sr./Lamar, Mo./ME) coming from the outside, the duo led the MSOE attack in 2013. Geary recorded 2.41 and Main 3.43 kills per set, the second-highest and highest marks on the team, respectively. Geary had the best hitting percentage of any Raider in 2013, amassing a .331 mark, while Main led the team with 19 service aces. The pair also succeeded defensively, as Geary led the team in total blocks with 71 while Main’s 1.58 digs per set was second only to libero John Cote (Sr./Orland Park, Ill./ME) and his 2.58.
Geary finds himself on the CVC squad for the second time and adds yet another bullet point to the lengthy list of awards he’s earned at MSOE. Geary has been on an all-conference team in each of his four years as a Raider after being named to the Midwest III Volleyball all-conference team in and second team in his freshman and sophomore years. Geary was also the 2010 Midwest III Freshman of the Year after a stellar career at Marquette University High School.
Main, meanwhile, earns all-CVC honors for the first time. Main transferred to MSOE after starting his college career at UMKC.
The Raiders completed the 2012 men’s volleyball season with a 7-19 record. MSOE qualified for the tournament as the third seed from the CVC West Division, but lost in five sets to Stevenson, the second seed from the East, to conclude its season last Friday.
