No. 11 MSOE hockey logs road victory against Finlandia


With goals from five different players, the No. 11 Raiders beat Finlandia 6-1 Friday night in Hancock, Michigan. Leading the offense for MSOE was senior forward Michael Soik who scored twice, once in the second period and again in the third. Sophomore forward Jordan Keizer picked up his 17th goal of the season which leads all of Division III. Keizer had a power play goal 40 seconds into the third period.

Freshman forward Kevin Medina scored his second goal of the season to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead at the 6:34 mark of the first period. Sophomore forward Bradley Tierney extended the lead in the second period just 12 second before Soik's first goal of the night. Junior forward Todd Krupa finished the scoring for MSOE in the third period.

Sophomore defenseman Carl Lindblad and freshmen forwards Austin Grosvenor and Steven Shaffroth all logged two assists each. Junior goaltender Connor Toomey made 25 saves in the victory. 

The Raiders (12-3-1, 9-1-1 MCHA) face the Lions Saturday at 2 p.m. to finish the weekend series.
