MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
A versatile and adept athlete, Angie King set a high
precedent for her teammates and future MSOE athletes. Accomplished in both
athletics and academics, King was the first MSOE athlete to letter in four
sports, and also managed to graduate with high honors. She was a four-year
letter winner in softball and basketball, and she also lettered in volleyball
and soccer.
An inspiring team leader, King helped her softball team win two conference championships her sophomore and junior seasons. During her junior softball season, she was chosen 3rd Team All-Region, the most significant honor of the Midwest Conference. King also was named Honorable Mention All-Conference as a freshman, All-Conference for three consecutive seasons and during senior season, she was appointed team captain and received the distinction of NCFA All-America Scholar Athlete.
King's commitment to high standards led her to excel as a basketball player, setting a record as the first female athlete at MSOE to score 1,000 points her senior season, while she also acted as team captain. In basketball, King was named Honorable Mention All-Conference her freshman, junior and senior seasons, MVP as a sophomore, the Sam Hulbert Invitational MVP her junior season and earned the Defensive Leadership award for two consecutive years.
King continues to be a leader at MSOE in her dual role on the field as the Raiders assistant softball coach and in the classroom as a lecturer.
