Coffey was abasketball standout who always maintained a perspective of fun.
He shot his way to First Team All-Conference honors in all three of his years as a Raider. Coffey was the MVP and team anchor who scored points-per-game averages of 17.3 in the 1989-1990 season and 18.0 in the 1990-1991 season (and upsetrivals Concordia, Marian and Wisconsin Lutheran). He also surpassed the prestigious 1,000-career points plateau in just three seasons, most of those in his senior year.
