MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
Jon Phillips was a powerful force in MSOE soccer. Named Lake Michigan Conference Newcomer of the Year, he made a big impact his freshman season with six goals, nine assists and 21 points, and received All-Conference Honorable Mention and All-Rookie Team selections. An attacking midfielder, Phillips led the conference in goals and assists his junior year and had a career 37 goals, 23 assists and 97 points. He was selected All-Conference his sophomore, junior and senior seasons and was NCAA Division III All-Midwest his junior and senior years.
Phillips was an inspirational leader on the field and in the classroom. He was the team captain his junior and senior seasons and the most valuable player for two consecutive years. Phillips was as dedicated to academics as he was to soccer and he was recognized with the athletic department Highest In-Season GPA award his senior year.
Jon Phillips was a main influence in the soccer program's great progress into a competitive program in the late 1990's. His prominent contributions during this era were significant in elevating the status of Raiders men's soccer.
