MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
The golf coach since 1975, his teams have never finished below the top half of the conference. Meloy has had undeniable success on the links; however, in the eyes of his golfers he may be best remembered as a thoughtful, caring individual. To coach Meloy, golf is not a weekend activity, it is a lifestyle. Coaching gives him the opportunity to do two of his favorite things at once, play golf and interact with students.
Meloy's golf teams won nine straight conference championships from 1983-1991, with Meloy earning conference "Coach of the Year" honors each subsequent title year. At the time of induction, Meloy was the dean of coaches in Wisconsin, as he had the longest tenure of any college coach in the state. Meloy also encourages the play of golf among younger athletes having served as the collegiate representative on the board of the Wisconsin High School Golf Coaches Association.
