MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
An NCAA All-American in 2004, Matthew Schoenherr qualified for the NCAA Tournament three times and was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association Academic All-American three seasons in a row. Schoenherr was selected as a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American in 2004, when he recorded 39 wins. Schoenherr won the Lake Michigan Conference championship three times individually, wrestled at the 285-pound weight class despite himself weighing only 215-220 pounds, and at the time of induction he was the all-time leader in university history with 123 wins and 32 falls. His 89 career near falls stood second.
