MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
Some people give a team four years of blood, sweat and
tears. Michael Surfus gave his university eight. Four were spent on the
basketball court (1981-1982, 1983-1986), where he ended his career as MSOE's
second all-time scorer, second in field goals, assists, rebounds and career
steals, and fourth in free throws. If that wasn't enough, when MSOE and coach
Bob Peterson came calling after graduation, he exchanged his uniform and
sneakers for a suit coat and clipboard to help guide his beloved team as an
assistant coach (1988-1992).
