MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
Always striving to achieve her
personal best, Rachel Eggebrecht was a leading runner in cross country for
four seasons and indoor and outdoor track her sophomore, junior and senior
seasons. Eggebrecht's skillful form carried her to numerous honors and
championships, including selections as cross country All-Conference,
All-State and Lake Michigan Conference Champion for four consecutive seasons.
In track and field, Eggebrecht received an impressive three All-American awards,
for a 5th place indoor 800M run with a time of 2:15.46 and 4th
place in the 800M run at the 1st Outdoor Nationals with a time of
2:12.61, both during her junior season; and she placed 6th in the
1500M with a time of 4:35.11 at the Outdoor Nationals in her senior year.
Eggebrecht also received the Coaches All-American Award in cross country and
the MSOE Senior Scholar Athlete Award for her accomplishments in cross
country and track.
Already a skilled
long- and short-distance runner, Eggebrecht remained determined to improve
her individual performance and support her team. She was rated Team Most
Improved her sophomore and senior years and MVP all four seasons. In
recognition of her academic and athletic achievements, Eggebrecht was
selected as All-Scholar and to the GTE Academic All-America Team for cross
country her junior season. Eggebrecht's accomplishments and optimistic
attitude made her a valuable asset to the Raiders cross country and track
& field programs.
