MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
An MSOE athlete from 1986 to 1988, Lund proved to be the consummate role model for women students at MSOE. She was the first MSOE athlete to letter in three sports: volleyball, basketball and softball. In many ways she was the pioneer of women's athletics at MSOE and truly exemplified the term "student-athlete." Besides her athletic accomplishments, she was also elected president of the Society of Women Engineers and graduated with honors.
Her athletic accomplishments include being named an All-Conference selection four times, twice each in volleyball and softball. During her volleyball career, she was a two-time MVP as well as captain. She also was named to the All-Tournament team for the WIC-WAC championships in 1985. In her senior year, Lund was named MVP of the softball team and also was bestowed the leadership award for the women's basketball team. Her number was retired.
After graduating from MSOE, Lund continued to have an impact on MSOE athletics, serving as the head volleyball coach from 1992 to 1996.
