MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame
Hoffmann is responsible for much of the growth of the men's soccer program at MSOE. His high level of play set the standard for others to follow. In his three years (1985-1987) wearing an MSOE jersey, he led the team to a 25-10-6 record. During the 1986 conference championship game, he scored the winning goal with only minutes remaining to defeat Maranatha Baptist and secure MSOE's undefeated conference season.
In each of the three years Hoffmann played soccer, he was rewarded for his stellar play and leadership by being named captain, MVP and All-Conference. In his senior season, he was selected NAIA All-District. In 1985, Hoffmann led the men's soccer team to its first NAIA playoff appearance. At the time of induction, he held the MSOE school record in both goals and assists. Since graduation, he continues to give back to the MSOE program as he coached the men's soccer team for three seasons from 1988 to 1990 and continues to be very active in soccer alumni functions.
