Head Coach Sean McInerney
Sean Mc Inerney joins the MSOE athletic department as the new men and women's tennis coach. Mc Inerney replaces Blake Wentz, who is employed at the university as Assistant Professor of Architectural Engineering & Building Construction. Wentz is still active in tennis and the MSOE program.
Mc Inerney is in his 12th year as a tennis professional in the Greater Milwaukee Area. He is The Director of Tennis at Mequon Country Club and the Adult Director at The Paley Tennis Center in Glendale. For the past ten years, Mc Inerney has developed some of the most successful tennis camps, programs, and players in Wisconsin. He has mentored and coached eleven Division I athletes and 13 singles and doubles champions while running his personal tennis business.
Although Mc Inerney has proven success in the private sector, Mc Inerney's lifelong passion has been to develop a college tennis program. "I am very excited for the opportunity to work with such a coachable group of student athletes, "said Mc Inerney. "Our goal simply is to improve every day, and represent MSOE through our hard work and determination for success. We are a young team that has an opportunity to set a new standard of excellence for the MSOE tennis program and I know the team is eager to prove themselves against some of the best competition in the region."
Not only a successful coach, but also Mc Inerney has been successful on the courts as a player. While attending Carthage College, Mc Inerney was a four-time all-conference selection and is the fourth winningest player in the school's history. Mc Inerney currently serves as the Director of Tennis Mequon Country Club and is the Adult Director at Paley Tennis Center in Glendale, Wis.
