Head Coach Kevin Morin
Kevin Morin has been a part of the MSOE tradition since 1978, starting out as an admission counselor and currently serving as the university's director of human resources. After concluding his fifteenth year of coaching at MSOE, Morin has also been instrumental in building the MSOE wrestling team from its humble beginnings.
Morin was the Lake Michigan Conference Coach of the Year five times (1998, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005). He was also the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in 2002.
Morin brought MSOE five conference titles, and has guided two All-American grapplers, 18 academic All-Americans and his wrestlers have won 71 individual tournament champions including 36 conference championships during his tenure as head coach.
Morin has received numerous honors and awards from his peers. In 2002 and 2003, he was selected College Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association. As recently as 2004, he received the Bob Bubb Coaching Excellence Award from the National Wrestling Coaches Association representing NCAA Division III coaches.
As a wrestler, Morin competed for Greenfield (Wis.) High School where he was a runner-up in the state high school tournament, a state champion in Greco-Roman wrestling and a two time state champion in freestyle wrestling and an all-American in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
While attending Marquette University, he was a champion and a two-time runner-up in the National Catholic Wrestling Tournament. A team captain for two years at Marquette, Morin was also a two-time place finisher in the NCAA Division I East Regional.
While at Marquette, Coach Morin received his BA degree and after college completed a national certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Morin and his wife Debra have been married 29 years and have four children: Matthew, Melissa, Micaela and Michael. The Morin's reside in West Allis.
