Coaches

Head Coach Kevin Morin

Kevin Morin has been a part of the MSOE tradition since 1978, starting out as an admission counselor and currently serving as the university's director of human resources. After concluding his fifteenth year of coaching at MSOE, Morin has also been instrumental in building the MSOE wrestling team from its humble beginnings.

Morin was the Lake Michigan Conference Coach of the Year five times (1998, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005). He was also the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in 2002. Last season, Morin was selected as Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association (WWCA) District 8 Co-Coach of the Year. He was the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in 2002.

In his time at MSOE, Morin has coached teams to five conference titles and has guided two All-American grapplers and 20 Academic All-Americans.

Morin has received numerous honors and awards from his peers. In 2002 and 2003, he was selected College Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association. As recently as 2004, he received the Bob Bubb Coaching Excellence Award from the National Wrestling Coaches Association representing NCAA Division III coaches.

As a wrestler, Morin competed for Greenfield (Wis.) High School where he was a runner-up in the state high school tournament, a state champion in Greco-Roman wrestling and a two time state champion in freestyle wrestling and an all-American in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

While attending Marquette University, he was a champion and a two-time runner-up in the National Catholic Wrestling Tournament. A team captain for two years at Marquette, Morin was also a two-time place finisher in the NCAA Division I East Regional.

While at Marquette, Coach Morin received his BA degree and after college completed a national certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Morin and his wife Debra have been married 30 years and have four children: Matthew, Melissa, Micaela and Michael. The Morins reside in West Allis.

Mario TrafficanteAssistant Coach Mario Trafficante

Mario Trafficante enters his ninth season as an assistant coach for the MSOE wrestling program. He was named Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association (WWCA) District 8 Co-Coach of the Year for the 2009-10 season.

Trafficante graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Management Computer Systems. He was a four-year varsity wrestler and Academic All-American during his time at UW-Whitewater. While finishing his second degree, Trafficante served as an assistant coach under Hall of Fame and legendary coach Willie Myers. He serves as the head technique coach for the Raiders. Trafficante and his wife Monika have two daughters: Mya and Marissa.

Matt LettoAssistant Coach Matt Letto

Matt Letto joined the MSOE wrestling coaching staff prior to the 2009-10 season. Letto was a four-year varsity wrestler and letter winner at MSOE where he graduated with honors in May 2006 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of MSOE's conference championship teams in 2004 and 2005 and was a key component of the MSOE's 2003, 2004 and 2005 teams that won the National Wrestling Coaches award for having the highest grade point average in the nation among NCAA Division III wrestling teams.

Letto is employed as a Commercial Sales Engineer with Carrier Corporation. 

Keith PearlAssistant Coach Keith Pearl 

Keith Pearl is in his first season as a member of the MSOE wrestling coaching staff. Pearl was an assistant wrestling coach at Bettendorf High School in Iowa High School from 2005 until 2009.

He wrestled at the University of Northern Iowa from 2000-2002. In high school, Pearl was a three-year state place winner including first, third and fifth place finishes. At Senior Nationals, he was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2000.

Keith and his wife Holly are the proud parents to Easton who was just born in October. He is currently employed at Bucyrus International as a Quality Systems Engineer.

Matt OlsenAssistant Coach Matt Olsen

Matt Olsen enters his first season as an assistant coach of the MSOE Wrestling team. Olsen was a four-year varsity wrestler and finished his senior year in 2010 as the Northern Wrestling Association conference champion. He was also team captain for two years. During his season, Olsen was named an Academic All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Olsen won 105 matches during his college career to place him fourth on MSOE's career victory list.
