Coaches

Head Coach Jessica Ott

Jessica Ott

Jessica Ott is in her tenth year as head coach of the MSOE women's basketball program and her 11th season at MSOE. She was named Northern Athletics Conference Coach of the Year for the 2008-09 season. The Raiders' 13-13 record was the first .500 season in MSOE's history. The team had 11 more wins than the previous season, giving them the best turnaround of any team in NCAA Division III during that season.

Also under Coach Ott's tutelage, 2007 graduate Catherine Chappell became MSOE's first Kodak All-American and Jostens Trophy Finalist. During MSOE's time in the Lake Michigan Conference and NAC, Ott has coached numerous Raiders to All-Conference and All-Rookie selections.

Ott had an exceptional career as a player at UW-Stevens Point. From 1996-2000, Ott earned several athletic awards including being named WIAC All-Conference First Team three times, D-III News Honorable Mention All-American, UWSP Female Athlete of the Year and UW-SP team captain. She remains the UWSP's third all-time leading scorer with 1,592 points and is first in university history for career three-pointers made, with 223. During the 2000-01 season, Ott was a high school varsity and junior varsity assistant for Division I state runner-up Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH).

Ott has also coached several summer basketball camps, was a youth basketball coordinator and she currently volunteers as a youth basketball and soccer coach at the local YMCA. In addition to her position as head coach, Ott assumes the role of senior woman administrator, assistant athletic director and head softball coach.


Corey MitchellAssistant Coach Corey Mitchell

Corey Mitchell
returns for his second season as an assistant at MSOE. Mitchell played collegiately at Milwaukee Area Technical College (2006-08) and Millikin University (2008-10). He also played at Milwaukee Washington High School from 1999-2003. He earned associate degree in liberal arts from MATC in 2008 and his bachelor's from Milikin in sports management.

 

 

 


David Janczak

Assistant Coach David Janczak

David Janczak
is in his first year with the MSOE coaching staff. Janczak's coaching experience includes two years at Germantown High School as assistant and various other basketball clubs for a total of seven years. He also brings knowledge from family history in basketball from his late father, as he was a Milwaukee Silent Club Hall of Famer.

Janczak and his wife Susan have been married for 27 years and have two children, Bradley and Jamie, and one granddaughter, Brynn. Jamie is a senior on the MSOE women's basketball team. Janczak resides in Germantown and is employed at Kubin-Nicholson as a sales representative.
