Raiders edged by Benedictine in NAC opener

The MSOE men's basketball team played their first Northern Athletics Conference game Tuesday night in Lisle, Ill. The Raiders fell to Benedictine 54-51.
Senior guard Oren Bloom was the lone MSOE player in double figures with ten points. Sophomore guard John Cording put in nine points, pulled down nine rebounds and dished out five assists. Cording did not turn the ball over in the game. Off the bench, sophomore center Jaren Singh had nine points and five rebounds.
The Raiders led the game 32-23 at halftime but could not hold on to the advantage in the second half. MSOE shot 57% from the field in the first half. The Raiders (1-4, 0-1 NAC) host Maranatha Baptist Saturday at 9:15 p.m.
