MSOE rowing wins lightweight race at Head of the Eagle Regatta


The MSOE rowing team finished their fall season Saturday at the Head of the Eagle Regatta in Indianapolis, Ind. The Raiders won the men's open lightweight 4+ race with a time of 13:33.90. There were ten boats in that race including Michigan, Michigan State and Marquette. On the boat were senior coxswain Rachel Connon, sophomore stroke Jonathan Allen, junior Ben Lang, senior Erik Winer and senior bow seat Luke Engebretson. As a team, MSOE earned 31.5 points at the event which took place at the Eagle Creek Reservoir.

In the men's open novice 8+ A race, the Raiders finished sixth out of ten boats with a time of 13:38.60. MSOE was fifth of 11 with a mark of 13:39.90 in the men's open 4+ race. In the men's open 4+ B race, the Raiders placed fifth with a time of 14:08.80.

MSOE came in fifth out of ten teams in the men's open 8+ A race with a mark of 12:36.80. The Raiders were about 30 seconds behind the winning boat of Michigan. In the men's open 8+ B race, MSOE's boat was fifth at 13:15.40.
