No. 14 MSOE hockey beats Concordia-Wisconsin 7-3 in season opener


The 14th ranked MSOE Raiders knocked off Concordia-Wisconsin 7-3 in the team's season lidlifter Friday night in Mequon, Wis. at the Ozaukee Ice Center. Senior Todd Krupa, junior Bradley Tierney and freshman Josh Keizer each scored two goals for the Raiders. The victory is the 150th for head coach Mark Ostapina at MSOE.

Josh Keizer picked up his first goal as a Raider on a power play at the 5:25 mark of the first period. Sophomore West Bauman and freshman Logan Bauman assisted on that goal. The Falcons tied the game later in the period. MSOE outscored Concordia-Wisconsin 4-0 in the second period. Josh Keizer, Tierney, junior Jordan Keizer and Krupa logged those goals.

In the third period, Krupa scored his second goal on the night as did Tierney. Jordan Keizer and Logan Bauman each had three assists in the game. Senior goaltender Connor Toomey made 13 saves for his 43rd career victory.

The Raiders (1-0, 1-0 MCHA) face the Falcons again Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at the Kern Center for their first home game of the season.
