No. 11 MSOE hockey upset by Bethel 2-1


On the road in Blaine, Minnesota, MSOE was defeated by Bethel 2-1.  The Raiders, ranked 11th in the nation, outshot Bethel 30-23 for the game. The Royals got on the board 14 minutes into the first period, scoring on a power play. Jack Paul scored off passes from Jon Crouse and Tyler Swanson. Tyler Sorenson scored for the Royals with three minutes remaining in the second period.

The Raiders wasted no time getting one of the goals back with junior forward Bradley Tierney scoring on a power play. Tieney's goal was assisted by junior forward Jordan Keizer and freshman forward Josh Keizer. The third period went scoreless for both teams as Bethel took eight shots in goal in the period compared to the Raiders' 12.

MSOE (9-3, 7-1 MCHA) returns to the Kern Center Friday for a non-conference matchup with Hamline. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
