Cayo hits 1,000-rebound mark in NAC victory over Rockford

Senior center Carol Cayo grabbed her 1,000th career rebound early in the second half as MSOE women's basketball defeated Rockford 53-41 Tuesday night in Rockford, Ill. Cayo already owns the Northern Athletics Conference and MSOE career records for rebounding. The Raiders moved to 6-1 in NAC play and continue to lead the South Division.
Cayo led all scorers with 22 points and also paced all players with 12 rebounds. Cayo blocked five shots and recorded six steals. Senior guard Kathleen Collingbourne and senior forward Jamie Janczak each had six points. MSOE went on a 10-1 run with 4:07 left in the game to close out the Regents. Rockford went 0-9 from three-point range and shot 30% from the field.
The Raiders (9-4, 6-1 NAC) head to Mequon, Wis. to face Concordia-Wisconsin Saturday at 2 p.m.
