Men's Volleyball falls to #1 UC Santa Cruz in five set thriller

Milwaukee – After the MSOE Raiders jumped out to a 2-set lead over NCAA Division III number one ranked University of California-Santa Cruz (UC Santa Cruz) Banana Slugs, they lost the next three sets, falling short of the upset.
The Raiders were led in kills by freshman outside hitter Nick Manning with 18 kills and a .342 hitting percentage. Senior opposite hitter Max Martin tallied a double-double for the match. He had 16 kills and a season best 21 digs. The Raiders were led in blocks by the junior middles Brain Main and Jack Geary with 5 and 4 blocks, respectively.
The Banana Slugs were led by Salvatore La Cavera with a match high 22 kills, while hitting a .305 hitting percentage. The Raiders drop to 2-3 in CVC West Division play, while UC Santa Cruz sitrs atop the wets with a 5-0 record.
The Raiders face Mount St. Joseph Saturday morning at 10 a.m., followed by a 4 p.m. contest against Fontbonne University.
