MSOE wrestling splits four duals at Wabash

The Raiders went 2-2 at the Max Servies Duals in Crawfordsville, Ind. Saturday at Wabash College. MSOE defeated Mount St. Joseph 27-23 and UW-Platteville 28-15. The Raiders were defeated by Central 29-12 and by No. 23 Wabash 40-12.
Against Central, freshman Luke Gaeth (125 pounds) and senior Jake Narveson (141 pounds) both logged victories via pin. In the dual win over Mount St. Joseph, Narveson and sophomore Austin Karls (285) pinned their opponents. Junior Austin Binish (133 pounds), junior Josh Wengerter (149 pounds) and sophomore Dallas Schurg (157 pounds) also were victorious.
Against the host team, Wabash, Narveson won another bout by fall while Gaeth and Binish also won as the Raiders started the dual with three straight victories. In the matchup against UW-Platteville, Narveson finished his day with a pin. Wengerter, freshman Peter Koostra (165 pounds), freshman Will Pederson (174 pounds), junior Caleb Staub (184 pounds) and Karls each won their bouts as well.
MSOE (6-5 duals) will compete in the Pete Willson Invitational next weekend in Wheaton, Ill.
