MSOE women's volleyball picks up two victories in Texas

The Raiders started their season this weekend in Texas at the University of Dallas Invite. MSOE knocked off Sul Ross State 3-2 (25-12, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17) in their first match of the year Friday. The Raiders fell to Centenary 3-1 (16-25, 25-18, 29-31, 24-26).
Senior Kaylie Lenz and junior Stephanie Hasler each had 13 kills against Sul Ross State. Hasler also had ten digs while senior Kathleen Collingbourne logged 18 digs. Senior setter Kassey Hoffmann had 29 assists. Against Centenary, Hasler recorded 17 kills while freshman Ali LoBue had ten kills. Hoffmann logged 43 assists and Collingbourne ended up with 19 digs.
Saturday, MSOE beat NYU-Poly 3-2 (20-25, 25-19, 25-15, 19-25, 15-12). In that match, LoBue had 15 kills while Hasler logged 13 kills and junior Julie Windish recorded 12 kills. LoBue and Hasler each had 12 digs while Collingbourne led with 15 digs. Hoffmann had 47 assists in the victory. The Raiders were defeated by the University of Dallas 3-0 (22-25, 16-25, 17-25) in their final match in Irving, Texas. Hasler had nine kills for MSOE.
The Raiders (2-2) are back in action Tuesday against Ripon on the road at 7 p.m.
