MSOE women's basketball drops road contest at Concordia-Chicago

In their final road conference game of the season, the Raiders were defeated by Concordia-Chicago 61-50 in River Forest, Ill. Saturday afternoon. Senior center Carol Cayo came close to a triple-double with eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
The Raiders trailed by seven at halftime and got within one in the second half but could never tie or take the lead. The score was 53-48 Concordia-Chicago with 3:08 left and the Cougars went on a 8-0 run to put the game away.
Senior guard Marguerite Wellstein led MSOE with nine points while sophomore forward Shannon Larson put in eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
After Saturday's loss, the Raiders (15-8, 11-5 NAC) trail Dominican by one game in the Northern Athletics Conference South Division with one regular season game left to play. MSOE holds the tiebreaker over the Stars by defeating Dominican twice this season. The Raiders have already a clinched a home game in the NAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
