Raiders open indoor track & field season at Private College Invitational

The MSOE track & field team started their indoor season Saturday at the Private College Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. The women's team placed sixth out of 11 teams while the men's squad was eighth of 13 teams.
Senior Emily Dieringer won the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.08 seconds and finished second in the 55-meter hurdles with a mark of 8.91 seconds. Dieringer was seventh in the pole vault at 3.03 meters. Senior Amanda Heller took the top spot in the 5000-meter run at 21:48.10 and placed seventh in the 3000-meter run at 11:21.56.
Sophomore Matt Waech was sixth in the 400-meter dash at 52.81 seconds and ninth in the 200-meter dash at 23.74 seconds. MSOE's 4X200-meter relay team finished third at 1:44.15. Freshmen Matt Schultz and Cody Johnson and seniors Steven Toll and Christian Hoft ran that event for the Raiders. The distance medley team came in fourth with a time of 11:03.18. Sophomore Mike Cosentino placed fifth in the high jump at 1.85 meters while senior Joe Klimowicz was seventh at 1.75 meters. In the triple jump, senior Arthur Weborg was eighth at 12.93 meters.
The Raiders will compete in the UW-Whitewater Invitational Saturday, Jan. 21.
