Raiders split opening NAC women's tennis matches

The MSOE women's tennis started their season Saturday with a couple of Northern Athletics Conference matches. The Raiders were edged by Dominican 5-4 then knocked off Concordia-Chicago 8-0 in Oak Park, Ill.
Against the Cougars, seniors Carol Cayo, Julie Burg, Marguerite Wellstein, Samantha Pekarscik and sophomore Ashley Albrecht each won in singles action. Juniors Courtney Grant and Heather Miller along with Cayo, Wellstein, Burg and Pekarscik picked up victories in doubles competition.
Cayo and Burg also both won against the Stars in singles while Cayo, Grant, Miller and Wellstein grabbed wins in doubles.
MSOE (1-1, 1-1 NAC) will host Alverno Wednesday at McKinley Park.
