No. 8 MSOE hockey shuts out St. Mary's 6-0


The No. 8 Raiders bounced back with a 6-0 victory Wednesday afternoon against St. Mary's in Winona, Minn. Senior forward Todd Krupa scored twice and senior goaltender Connor Toomey made 20 saves for his eighth career shutout to tie the school record held by Matt Burzon.

Junior defenseman Carl Lindblad scored with 18 seconds left in the first period for the game's first goal. In the second period, senior forwards Kyle Smith and Todd Krupa netted tallies to put the Raiders up 3-0. Krupa's goal came on the power play.

In the third period, Krupa had his second goal of the game in the third period at the 10:55 mark and now has six goals this season. Freshman forward Cole Gibson extended his team lead in goals as he scored his seventh on the year with a little more than five minutes left. Gibson also had two assists in the game. Freshman defenseman Devin Schmitt logged two assists as well. The final goal was recorded by junior forward Jordan Keizer. The Raiders had 36 shots compared to 20 for the Cardinals. 

MSOE (6-2, 5-1) hosts Lake Forest Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:05 p.m. in Milwaukee.
