MSOE women's basketball wins fifth straight

The Raiders knocked off Maranatha Baptist 56-43 Saturday night at the Kern Center. Senior center Carol Cayo recorded her fifth straight double-double while freshman guard Marly Trier chipped in ten points off the bench for MSOE. The Raiders are now 3-0 in Northern Athletics Conference action for the first time in school history and have now won five straight games.
Cayo put in 19 points and pulled down ten rebounds and also had two blocks, two steals and two assists. Trier pulled down five rebounds and had two steals to go along with her first double figure scoring output of her young career at MSOE. The Raiders pulled away during a 16-6 run in the second half. The Crusaders had the lead when that run started but that would be the last time in the game when they were in front.
MSOE (5-1, 3-0 NAC) hosts Aurora Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Milwaukee.
