Raiders edged by Bethany in Bahamas Sunshine Shootout

Senior center Carol Cayo recorded her seventh double-double of the season but the MSOE women's basketball team was defeated by Bethany (W. Va.) 63-61 Monday afternoon at the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout in Nassau, Bahamas. Cayo put in 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Raiders had a 34-32 lead at halftime. MSOE trailed by seven with 1:25 left in the game and pulled within two in less than 30 seconds but could not get any closer in the contest.
Sophomore forward Shannon Larson just missed a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Kathleen Collingbourne added eight points and four rebounds.
The final game in the event for the Raiders (6-3) is Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Goucher.
