MSOE men's volleyball shakes off  Rust 3-0


In their home opener, the MSOE Raiders men's volleyball team took down Rust College in three straight sets, 25-11, 25-22, 25-20. Senior Max Martin led all players with 12 kills and an .846 (10-1-12) hitting percentage. Martin tallied two service aces, four digs and three total blocks.

The Bearcats were led by T’Jon McDade with nine kills and Turner Raymond with six kills on nine attempts and a .667 hitting percentage.

In set one, behind a match high .550 hitting percentage, MSOE won swiftly 25-10, holding the Bearcats to a .000 hitting percentage. Rust made a run to win game two and was in the lead 21-20 when MSOE called a time out. Following the timeout, the Raiders ran off four straight points before trading the last two for the win. In set three, MSOE led from start to finish to complete the three set sweep.

The Raiders next hit the court at home on Thursday, Feb. 2, against Division I opponent Quincy University. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
