Raiders fall to Nebraska Wesleyan to start season

The MSOE men's basketball team was knocked off by Nebraska Wesleyan 51-42 Friday in the Northwestern Tip-Off Tournament in St. Paul, Minn. The Raiders were led by senior guard Oren Bloom who had 11 points in the team's first game of the year. Senior forward Michael Ricciardi scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds.
MSOE was ahead 26-24 at halftime. Nebraska Wesleyan put together a 14-2 run in the second half to secure the victory against the Raiders. Sophomore guard John Cording led all players with six assists and also had four steals.
Next up for MSOE (0-1) is the third place game of the tournament at 3 p.m. Saturday against North Central.
