MILWAUKEE — The MSOE Women's Basketball team wrapped up its 2012-13 season Wednesday night with a 63-39 Northern Athletic Conference loss to Lakeland College at the Kern Center.
MSOE (2-22, 2-16 NAC) kept it close through the first half and trailed by just six, 28-22, after a three-pointer by Courtney Leaf (Sr./Andover, Minn./AE-CM) keyed a Raider run before halftime. However the toll of playing four games in six days, including a game last night against Edgewood in Madison, eventually caught up as the Raiders could only manage 11 points in the second half.
MSOE played without Megan Kroll (Fr./Weston, Wis./ME) for the fourth-straight game due to injury, while Ali LoBue (So./Homewood, Ill./Nursing) was also unavailable to Ott. Without Kroll or LoBue, Jenna Harvestine (Fr./Sussex, Wis./Bioengineering) was forced into action for the first time in the 2012-13 season and saw significant minutes despite failing to score.
Lakeland (12-13, 10-8 NAC) captured the eighth and final spot in the 2013 Northern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament with the win, sneaking past Edgewood via a tiebreaker. MSOE was eliminated from tournament contention earlier in the year and finishes the season having lost its last five games.
