The No. 14 Raiders held on to a 3-2 victory over Lawrence Friday night in Appleton, Wis. Junior forward Bradley Tierney scored the game-winning goal in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association contest.
Freshman forward Josh Keizer started the scoring just nine seconds into the game. His goal was set up by Tierney and sophomore defenseman Michael Schenfeld. After the Vikings tied it early in the second period, sophomore forward West Bauman put MSOE on top for good at the 9:02 mark of the second. Tierney found the back of the net with just 1:35 left in the period. Junior forward Jordan Keizer and sophomore forward Michael Thompson were credited with the assists on that goal. A third period Lawrence goal wouldn't be enough to stop the Raiders from earning the win.
Senior goalie Connor Toomey made 36 saves in the victory. MSOE (11-5, 8-3 MCHA) faces Lawrence again Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kern Center.
