No. 10 MSOE hockey sweeps weekend series against Northland

Four different Raiders scored as the No. 10 MSOE hockey team edged Northland 4-3 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association action Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis.
In the first period, the lone goal was scored by sophomore forward Austin Grosvenor from junior forward Mike Pao and junior defenseman Nathan Brunk at the 7:23 mark. In the second, MSOE took a 3-0 lead when Pao had a power play tally then freshman forward Josh Keizer scored about five minutes later. Pao's goal was set up by senior forward Todd Krupa and sophomore forward West Bauman while Josh Keizer's score was assisted by junior forward Jordan Keizer and freshman forward Cole Gibson.
The Lumberjacks scored three straight times to tie the game at 3 including two goals within 20 seconds in the third period. Jordan Keizer had the game-winning goal for the Raiders about five minutes later from Josh Keizer and sophomore forward Steve Shaffroth. Senior goalie Connor Toomey logged 19 saves in the victory.
The Raiders (19-5-1, 16-3-1 MCHA) will host the MCHA First Round next weekend in Milwaukee at the Kern Center.
