Norman, Okla.-- The MSOE men’s golf team was one of 26 NCAA Division III institutions in receiving the All Academic Team award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. Including all divisions (NCAA I, II, III and NAIA) a total of 124 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.
MSOE and Marquette are the only institutions in Wisconsin receiving this honor. Last season, MSOE finished in second place overall in the Northern Athletic Conference (NAC), falling short of the NCAA Tournament. The team has participated in the NCAA championships two of the past four years. The team is coached by the NAC “Dean of Golf” Joe Meloy, who has coached the program since it’s inception.
The award is presented annually by Farmer’s Insurance and the GCAA.
