No. 11 MSOE hockey edged by Adrian 3-2

The No. 11 MSOE hockey team fell to Adrian 3-2 Saturday at the Kern Center in an MCHA battle. The Raiders outshot Adrian 36-30 but couldn't avoid their first loss of the season.

The Bulldogs got the scoring going right away with Dan Barczuk ripping one into the net just 16 seconds into the game. Adrian made it 2-0 with a power play goal from Shelby Gray about halfway through the first.

MSOE was able to fight back and tie the game in the second period. At the 1:30 mark of the second, senior Todd Krupa netted a power play goal from sophomore Michael Thompson and junior Jordan Keizer. Then just over two minutes later, freshman Kevin LoGiudice scored his first goal as a Raider to tie the game at 2. Senior Kyle Smith assisted on that goal. However, Grant Telfer put Adrian up for good at the 13:18 mark of the second.

Senior goaltender Connor Toomey made 27 saves for MSOE. There were just three penalties in the game after the two team combined for 24 penalties Friday night.

The Raiders (5-1, 5-1) are off until Nov. 22-23 when they face St. Mary's for two games in Winona, Minn.
