Raider Hockey Nails Three Player of the Week Honors

The MSOE hockey team started off the season in grand fashion, earning two conference wins over Concordia-Wisconsin and also having three student-athletes recognized for their outstanding play by the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association.
Brad Tierney was the named the conference Player of the Week, while teammates Nick Kohn and Cody Ganchar earned Defensive and Freshman of the Week honors, respectively.
Senior forward Brad Tierney (Edmonton, Alberta) is the MCHA Player of the Week after leading his squad to a 2-0 start. He tallied a four-point weekend, including the game-winner on Saturday. He added a key assist on MSOE's shorthanded goal Friday and was +4 on the weekend.
Freshman goalie Nick Kohn (Hartland, Wis.) garners MCHA Defensive Player of the Week by posting both wins over the Falcons and had a 1.50 GAA and .948 save percentage.
Freshman forward Cody Ganchar (Avon Lake, OH) is the MCHA Freshman of the Week. The civil engineering major was a key member of the Raiders squad, netting one goal and assisting another. He was +3 on the weekend and won key face-offs both nights - including the face-off on the game winner Saturday.
MSOE continues its MCHA schedule with a road trip to face Finlandia University in a Friday night and Saturday Afternoon contests in Hancock, Mich.
