Raiders garner dual victories against UW-Eau Claire and Wheaton

The MSOE wrestling team opened the 2012 portion of their schedule with dual victories over UW-Eau Claire and Wheaton at the Maranatha Baptist Duals in Watertown, Wis. Saturday. The Raiders defeated UW-Eau Claire 24-15 and Wheaton 28-23 but fell to UW-Oshkosh 32-15. The Titans are ranked No. 17 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association national poll.
Against UW-Eau Claire, junior Austin Binish (133 pounds), senior Jake Narveson (149 pounds) and junior Josh Wengerter (157) each won by fall in their bouts. Junior Matt Ostovich (141 pounds) and freshman Peter Koostra (165 pounds) won their matches by decision.
In the dual victory against Wheaton, it was Binish, Narveson and Wengerter each winning by fall. Koostra also was victorious against Wheaton. Narveson and sophomore Marcus Rokosh (197 pounds) picked up wins via fall against UW-Oshkosh while Koostra edged his competition against the Titans.
MSOE (4-3 duals) will take part in the Elmhurst Tournament Saturday, Jan. 14.
