Jordan Keizer takes MCHA Player of the Week honors


Junior forward Jordan Keizer was named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week for his performance during MSOE's weekend sweep of Northland. Jordan Keizer had the game-winning goal in both victories against the Lumberjacks. Friday night, he scored two goals and recorded an assist in the team's 3-0 win against Northland. Then on Saturday, Jordan Keizer put the Raiders up 4-3 in the third period and that would end up being the final score. He also added an assist in that contest.

Jordan Keizer ended up being the leading goal scorer in MCHA games with 16 while freshman forward Josh Keizer was second with 13 tallies. Senior goalie Connor Toomey was first in goals against average at 1.96 in MCHA play. Nationally, Jordan Keizer is tied for the third-most points with 39 and the fourth-most goals with 19. He leads all of Division III with six short-handed goals and is tied for second with five game-winning goals. Toomey is tied for third nationally with three shutouts.

MSOE remained No. 10 in the USCHO.com Division III national poll this week. The Raiders have been ranked in every poll this season. MSOE will host Lake Forest this weekend in the first round of the MCHA Tournament. The two-game series starts at 7 p.m. Saturday with the second game beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. Both games be will played at the Kern Center. If necessary, a 20-minute mini-game will immediately follow Sunday's contest. The other first round matchup is between Lawrence and Finlandia. Adrian and Marian earned byes into the MCHA Harris Cup Four, which will take place in Adrian, Mich.
