Raiders come up short against Rockford

In a battle between two teams from the Northern Athletics Conference South Division, Rockford defeated MSOE men's basketball 59-54 Wednesday night at the Kern Center. Junior forward Victor Bande scored 14 of his 19 points in the first half.
The Raiders led by as many as six points but the Regents took a three-point lead into the halftime break. Rockford went on a 10-0 run to gain the advantage. In the second half, the Regents did not lead by more than eight but would not allow MSOE to tie the game the rest of the way.
Also in double figures for the Raiders was senior guard Oren Bloom who had ten points. Bloom grabbed seven rebounds as well while sophomore guard John Cording pulled down eight rebounds.
The Raiders (9-13, 7-7 NAC) head to River Forest, Ill. Saturday to play Concordia-Chicago at 4:15 p.m. MSOE is tied with Aurora in the South Division for the final spot in the NAC Tournament with two games to play.
