Krupa's hat trick highlights Senior Night victory against Lake Forest

On Senior Night, it was senior forward Todd Krupa leading the way with a hat trick as No. 12 MSOE hockey knocked off Lake Forest 6-1 at the Kern Center Saturday night. Senior goalie Connor Toomey made 26 saves in the victory.
Junior defenseman Nathan Brunk put the Raiders up 1-0 at the 4:26 mark of the first period with a power play goal from sophomore forward Ben Lauder and junior forward Jordan Keizer. Krupa had his first on the night at 16:51 of the period. That goal was assisted by sophomore defenseman Michael Schenfeld and Brunk.
In the second period, MSOE extended their lead to 3-0 when sophomore forward Kevin Medina scored from sophomore defenseman Michael Thompson. Krupa found the back of the net again at the 10:17 mark of the second. His second goal was set up by sophomore forward West Bauman and sophomore defenseman Devin Schmitt. After a Lake Forest power play goal from Bobby Barrett, Thompson scored a power play tally from Schmitt and junior forward Mike Pao. The final goal of the game was Krupa finishing his hat trick at the 14:02 mark of the third period. West Bauman and Pao logged the assists.
The Raiders (17-5-1, 14-3-1 MCHA) head to Ashland, Wis. to face Northland next weekend for games Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday at 3:05 p.m.
