Raiders down Concordia-Chicago in conference action

Four MSOE women's basketball players scored eight points or more as the Raiders defeated Concordia-Chicago 46-41 Wednesday night at the Kern Center in Milwaukee. Sophomore forward Shannon Larson led MSOE with ten points in the Northern Athletics Conference clash.
Senior center Carol Cayo put in eight points, grabbed nine rebounds, blocked three shots and recorded three steals. Senior guard Marguerite Wellstein scored nine points and pulled down six rebounds while junior forward Cate Scholfield logged eight points.
The Raiders and Cougars were tied at 30 with 12:40 left in the game. MSOE then went on a 9-0 run and Concordia-Chicago would not pull any closer than five for the rest of the contest.
Next up for the Raiders (10-5, 7-2 NAC) is Alverno Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kern Center as the two teams will battle for the Red Rivalry Cup which currently belongs to the Inferno as they won the game against MSOE last season.
