MSOE women's basketball drops season opener

The Raiders fell to Buena Vista 71-58 in the Northwestern Tip-Off Tournament Friday in St. Paul, Minn. Senior center Carol Cayo led all scorers with 23 points in MSOE's season opener. Cayo also pulled down nine rebounds and had five steals and two blocks.
The other Raider in double figures was sophomore forward Shannon Larson who put in 15 points. Larson also had six rebounds and four steals. MSOE led the game 28-27 at halftime. The Raiders forced 27 turnovers. Buena Vista went on a 23-6 run to take control of the game in the second half.
MSOE (0-1) will face North Central at 1 p.m. Saturday in the third place game of the tournament.
