MSOE men's volleyball falls to Cardinal Stritch in season opener


The Raiders opened up their 2012 season Friday night on the road in Milwaukee with a three-set loss against Cardinal Stritch (25-20, 33-31, 25-23). The Wolves are ranked No. 8 in NAIA.

MSOE was led by junior outside hitter Alex Harbour who had ten kills with a .333 hitting percentage. Senior opposite Max Martin logged nine kills and four service aces. Sophomore setter Josh Avery paced the Raiders with 23 assists. Senior outside hitter John Buczynski and junior libero John Cote each picked up six digs. 

The marathon second set included 39 sideouts and 18 ties. MSOE reached set point six different times in that set. The Raiders were down one at 24-23 in the final set but Cardinal Stritch finished out the match.

MSOE (0-1) hosts Rust Saturday, Jan. 28 for their first home match of the year.
