Senior goalie Connor Toomey was named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week for his performance during MSOE's weekend sweep of Lake Forest. Toomey has earned this honor 12 times in his career. He broke the MSOE record for shutouts Friday night as the Raiders defeated Lake Forest 4-0. Toomey made 33 saves in that contest.
Saturday night was Senior Night at the Kern Center and MSOE knocked off the Foresters 6-1 with Toomey coming up with 26 saves for his 59th career win. He had a .983 save percentage on the weekend.
The Raiders have moved up to No. 10 in the USCHO.com Division III national poll. MSOE was ranked 12th last week. The Raiders still have a chance to win the MCHA regular season title as they trail Adrian by two points with two games left. MSOE holds the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs as they went 2-1-1 against Adrian this season. This weekend, the Raiders play at Northland Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday at 3:05 p.m. The Bulldogs head to Finlandia for their final two games.
