Axt, Pung's late goals not enough against Aurora in NAC Semis

Senior Jessica Axt and freshman Gabbie Pung both scored for the MSOE women's soccer but the Raiders fell to Aurora 3-2 in the semifinals of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament Wednesday afternoon in Aurora, Ill.
The Spartans led 1-0 at halftime after Debbie McLaughlin recorded a goal in the 41st minute. Aurora score twice in the second half to open up a three-goal advantage.
Pung logged her tenth goal on the year in the 80th minute. Then about four minutes later, Axt scored her 28th goal of the season which was assisted by senior Mindy Donald to make the score 3-2. However, MSOE would not be able to tie the game. Axt entered the week in a tie for the national lead in goals and points. Junior goalie Emma Lumpe made seven saves as she played all 90 minutes in net for the Raiders.
