Raiders edge Lakeland 3-2 in NAC battle

The MSOE men's soccer team knocked off Lakeland 3-2 in a Northern Athletics Conference game Wednesday night in Milwaukee at Time Warner Cable Stadium. Senior Michael Vanek scored twice for the Raiders.
Sophomore Patrick Gathof made it 1-0 in the 14th minute. That goal was assisted by senior Dan Hosko. Vanek scored his first of the night at the 28:22 mark. Hosko also set up that goal. Vanek then found the back of the net in the 32nd minute. Gathof had the assist on the goal. MSOE allowed two goals in the second half but held on to win the match.
Senior goalkeeper Jon Cerny made two saves for the Raiders in the win. MSOE (9-6-1, 7-2-0 NAC) faces Benedictine in Lisle, Ill. Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
