MSOE softball sweeps Maranatha Baptist

The Raiders took down Maranatha Baptist twice in softball action Tuesday afternoon in Watertown, Wis. MSOE won the first game 10-3 and then beat the Crusaders 6-4 in the second contest.
In the opener, junior Kate Klaubauf led the Raiders with three hits and also scored two runs. Freshmen Annie Thomas and Sarah Altene and senior pitcher Jessica Iversen each collected two hits with senior Elise Pinkerton, Altene and Iversen all picked up two RBI. Iversen pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts to earn the victory.
In the other game, Altene and junior Julie Windish each had three hits with Altene logging three RBI. Thomas again had two hits for MSOE. Altene struck out 11 as she threw a complete game.
The Raiders face Mount Mary across town in Milwaukee Wednesday at 3 p.m.
