Raiders split with Edgewood

The MSOE softball team defeated Edgewood 3-2 in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday in Verona, Wis. The Raiders were edged by the Eagles 4-3 in the second game.
In the first game, freshman pitcher Sarah Altene allowed one earned run in a complete game performance to earn his first career win. Altene struck out three and allowed four hits. Senior Jessica Iversen singled home junior Julie Windish in the sixth inning which turned out to be the game-winning run.
Windish and senior Elise Pinkerton each had two hits in the second game while junior Rebecca Gardner drove in three runs in the close loss. Iversen gave up two earned runs in six innings of work.
MSOE (3-15, 3-5 NAC) faces Concordia-Wisconsin Saturday in Mequon, Wis.
