Axt scores twice as Raiders beat Webster

Senior Jessica Axt found the back of the net twice in the second half as the MSOE women's soccer team defeated Webster 2-1 Sunday afternoon in Fenton, Mo. Axt scored at the 47:15 mark of the game and then made it 2-0 on a pass from freshman Gabbie Pung just over 13 minutes later. Her two goals extend her school record for goals as Axt now has 50 goals in her career.
Junior goalkeeper Emma Lumpe made six saves for the Raiders. MSOE had four shots on goal including three from Axt. Sophomore Maureen Thompson had the other shot on goal.
The Raiders (1-1) will host Concordia-Chicago in their first Northern Athletics Conference match of the season Tuesday at Time Warner Cable Stadium in Milwaukee.
